Fond du Lac Reporter, Nov. 12, 1990, p. 24. Martin M. Baus, 78, of 188 Royal Ave., died Sunday, Nov. 11, 1990, at St. Agnes Hospital. He was born Nov. 14, 1912, in St. Cloud (Town of Forest), a son of George and Louise Gilles Baus. On Nov. 20, 1948, he married Gladys Sass at St. Mary’s Church. Mr. Baus was engaged in farming in the St. Cloud area with his wife on the family farm until moving to Fond du Lac in 1970. He was employed with Sadoff Iron and Metal Co. from 1966 until retiring in 1977. Mr. Baus was a member of North Fond du Lac Community Senior Center, 50s Plus of St. Agnes Hospital, Teamsters Local 200, a former member of St. Claudius Church and the church’s Holy Name Society, and he attended St. Joseph’s Church. Survivors include his wife; two sons, Elmer J. and his wife Crystal of Fond du Lac, and Lawrence M. of Waco, Tex.; four daughters Gloria McCann and her husband Paul of McCook, Neb., Mary Martin and her husband Dean, Carol Baus and Barbara Baus, all of Fond du Lac; 13 grandchildren; one brother, Carl of Fond du Lac; one sister-in-law, Lucy Baus of Mount Calvary; and nieces and nephews. Preceding him in death were one brother and two sisters. Funeral services will be held Thursday at 9 a.m. at Zacherl Funeral Home, and at 9:30 a.m. at St. Joseph’s Church. The Rev. Julio Miralbes will officiate. Burial will be in St. Claudius Church Cemetery, St. Cloud. Friends may call Wednesday from 4 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
