William was likely born in New York (or possibly Pennsylvania) around 1783. By 1812 he was living in Onondaga County, New York. He married Elizabeth Badgley about 1813. In 1849 they and several of their children relocated to Avon, Lake County, Illinois. They died within weeks of each other in the summer of 1877.
