A funeral service was held Thursday for Elza C. Armbruster of Oconomowoc and formerly of Milwaukee and Cedarburg, who died Nov. 9, 1992, at Shorehaven Health Center in Oconomowoc.
Rev. Scott Harris led the service. Burial was at Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery in Cedarburg.
Miss Armbruster, 93, was born Nov. 25, 1898 in the Town of Mequon daughter of Andrew and Augusta (Bohrtz) Armbruster.
Miss Armbruster worked on the family farm until 1943, then worked with a sister in Milwaukee, cleaning private homes. She and her sister also owned and rented furnished apartments, which they sold in 1975, when they moved to Lake Terrace Apartments at Shorehaven.
Since moving to Oconomowoc, Miss Armbruster had been a member of Dr. Martin Luther Church. She was baptized and confirmed at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Cedarburg. In Milwaukee, she was a member of St. Thomas Lutheran Church, where she was active in Sunday School and mission work.
Survivors include nieces; nephews; and other relatives and friends. Miss Armbruster was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers and four sisters. Memorials to Dr. Martin Luther Church or Shorehaven Health Center, Oconomowoc, are welcome.
