Hulette Abernathy Boothe, 97, of Columbus, Georgia, passed away Wednesday, May 4, 2016 in Huntsville, Alabama. A graveside funeral service will be held Saturday, May 7, 2016 at 4:00pm EDT at Lakeview Memory Gardens in Phenix City, Alabama. Rev. Jim Caldwell will officiate according to Striffler-Hamby in Phenix City. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 2:45pm until 3:45pm EDT Saturday prior to the service.

Mrs. Boothe was born February 28, 1919 in Dothan, Alabama; daughter of the late Samuel Davis and Minnie Lee Langford Abernathy. She grew up in Chambers County, where she graduated from Ridge Grove School. She previously lived in Roanoke and Phenix City, Alabama, but was a long-time resident of Columbus and member of Central Baptist Church in Phenix City. She retired from Greystone Properties.

Other than her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Ocie Boothe, sons, Gary and Richard Boothe; sisters, Mabel Moore and LaMerle Wilson.

Survivors include her grandsons, Adam (Deborah) Boothe of Huntsville, AL; Todd Boothe of Fairfield, OH; Chris (Alicia) Boothe of Livingston, TX; granddaughter, Tracy (Jeff) Labbe of Fayetteville, NC; ten great-grandchildren; two great-great granddaughters; daughter-in-law, Dorothy Boothe of West End, NC; nieces, Sharon Hicks and Linda Wall of LaGrange, GA and cousins.

In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to Hospice Family Care, 3404 Westmill Drive, Huntsville, AL 35805
