Pfc. Cody A. Board, 19, of McKinney, Texas, died Oct. 4 at Mirwais, Afghanistan, of wounds suffered when insurgents attacked his unit with an improvised explosive device. He was assigned to the 1st Squadron, 2nd Stryker Cavalry Regiment, Vilseck, Germany. He is survived by his father, Christopher W. Board of McKinney, Texas; mother, Melissa Board of McKinney, Texas; brothers Aaron and Tyler Board of McKinney, Texas; grandparents, Robert Board and fiancรฉ, Marian Locke of Coon Rapids, Minnesota, Albert Daley and fiancรฉ, Laqueta Snyder of Grove, Oklahoma. He was preceded in death by his grandmothers, Mozella Daley and Sally Board.
