David Eugene Beckwith was born to James and Ann (Kvarta) Beckwith on October 12, 1946 in Fargo. They moved to rural Frazee when David was a young boy. He attended school in Frazee, graduating from Frazee High School. He then served in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War.
In the following years he worked as a mechanic for Boeing in Missouri and also Northwest Airlines. He also owned and operated a resort in the Park Rapids area, and for a short time taught diesel mechanics in the Detroit Lakes area. David enjoyed raising cattle on his hobby farm, and you could always find him with a fishing pole in his hand, it didn't matter what time of the year it was.
Surviving David are his daughter, Sheri (John) Hart of Urbana, Mo.; and his mother, Ann Beckwith of Detroit Lakes.
Preceding him in death were his father, James Beckwith; and a brother, Ronald Beckwith.
Funeral services are set for 2 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 5 at the Immanuel Lutheran Church in rural Osage, with visitation for one hour prior to services.
Interment will be in the church cemetery. Arrangements were entrusted to West-Kjos Funeral Home, Detroit Lakes.
