She first married Emmitt Jerome Dupree in 1924; after his early death she married Robert Wright Wesley in 1942.

She was the daughter of Samuel Henry Haddock and Nora Julia (Anchors) Haddock.

Doris Haddock Wesley, Former School Principal - Mrs. Doris Haddock Wesley, a principle for 30 years at Pearl Stephen Elementary School, died Friday. Mrs. Wesley, 82, of 747 Wesleyan Drive, died in a local hospital after a brief illness. Services will be held at 3 pm Sunday in Rose Hill Cemetery.

Mrs. Wesley, a native of Haddock, had lived in Macon most of her life. She was past president of the Bibb Education Association and the Bibb Principals Group. She retired after 41 years of teaching, having taught at Bellevue, Heard and Pearl Stephens schools becoming principal at Pearl Stephens in 1943. She was one of the finest principals in Bibb County to receive the state administrative certificate. She also received the founders certificate from the PTA and the life administrators certificate.

Mary Napier, who taught with Mrs. Wesley at Pearl Stephens, remembered her as a woman who touched many lives. Her most special quality as a teacher was the personal interest Mrs. Wesley took in each of her students' lives, Mrs. Napier said. Mrs. Wesley was famous for her regular morning walks with her collie, Mrs. Napier said. "Every day, rain or shine, she would take her walk. And she knew everyone on the way and they all knew her." Mrs. Napier said. "She once told me that she had walked enough miles to get her from Macon to California and back."

Mrs. Wesley attended her freshman year at Ga. Normal and Industrial College in Milledgeville and received her master's degree from Mercer University. She taught the Sidney bayne Bible Class and the George S. Jones Bible Class at Vineville UMC, the Men's Bible Class and the Eloise Taylor Bible Class at cherokee Heights UMC and the Bible class at Martha Bowman Methodist Church. She was a member of the Nathaniel Macon chapter of the DAR and Vineville UMC.

She is survived by a son, Henry J. Dupree of Macon.. The family will be at the residence of Henry J. Dupree, 747 Wesleyan Drive. Snow's Memorial Chapel has charge of arrangements.
