Funeral services were held for Mrs. Gilbert who passed away last Thursday at the home of her daughter, Mrs. James Pepper, in Clyde Park. Interment was made in the family plot at the Clyde Park Cemetery. The pallbearers were her two sons Dudley S. and Philip H. Gilbert and four sons-in-law, J. M. Pepper, J. M. Jones, A. C. Shelhamer and R. W. Smith.

Sarah Sophia Horton was born in Jersey City, N.J., April 17, 1851, the oldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William M. Horton. As a child she accompanied her parents to Peekskill, N.Y. where she was educated and grew to womanhood and taught in the public schools. She was married April 8, 1877 to Judson H. Gilbert. They lived near Peekskill until 1882 when they moved to Grand Forks, N.D., and in 1903 they moved to the Shields Valley, and Mrs. Gilbert has resided since on their Rock Creek Ranch.

Mrs. Gilbert leaves six children, 23 grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Mrs. Gilbert was the last of her family and that of her husband. She has resided with son Phil Gilbert and family, who now occupy the home ranch.
