BEST MEMA EVER
She was one of the greatest women to walk this earth!! At least to her family and friends she was. God made her our guardian angel at 49 years young. Guess he had a much bigger plan for her in heaven.

Mom battled melanoma cancer of the liver for 14 months. 5 years to the day prior she lost her left eye due to ocular melanoma. Doctors told her within 5 years the cancer was bound and determined to go to her liver. Mom did not smoke, but every now and again would have herself a couple bottles of wine. But the moon had to be blue for her to do that!!

She grew up in Chula Vista, San Diego County, California, USA. She graduated from Castle Park Senior High - Class of 1973 "Go Trojans". She loved her some San Diego Chargers and Padres also.

She met my dad on base there in California where she was a dental assistant. They married on May 15th, 1974. We moved to Texas in July of 1984 due to my dad's father being sick with cancer. They wanted us children to get to spend some time with him. Mom loved Texas so much our family stayed.

She would have done anything and everything for anyone!! Never would she ask for anything in return.

Mom was all about Red, White and Blue. She loved our military and our country so much.

She was truly an angel her on earth.

Maria Y. Schmidt of Seguin passed away Wednesday at the age of 49. Visitation begins Friday at noon. A Rosary will be recited Friday at 5:30 p.m. The funeral mass will be held 9:30 a.m. Saturday at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. Interment will follow in the Eden Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Palmer Funeral Home. (I am going to leave survivors off). Her father Enrique Calvillo preceded her in death.

One of Mary's last requests was that friends and family who will attend her funeral service wear casual clothes—"NO TIES THAT CHOKE; NO HIGH HEELS THAT HURT!"

YOU ARE MISSED VERY MUCH
