Bertha was born May 18, 1905 to Lester and Maude Pamelia (Love) Huntington. Bertha and her husband, Ora, raised 10 children: Henrietta "Etta", Basil Maynard, June Isabell, Calverea Ruth, Lazarus Jeremiah, Anna Mae, Spencer Lee, Lavonne Cloraine, Sharon Annette and Warren Wendall. Bertha was a good cook and enjoyed working in her big garden. She canned hundreds of quarts of vegetables that they made good use of during the long winters in Wisconsin. After her children were grown, Bertha also worked as a cook and cleaning person at Rolling Hills Nursing Home in Sparta, WI. She also worked at Fort McCoy.

Bertha passed away from colon cancer at her daughter's (June) home in LaCrosse, WI on Sept. 2, 1967 at the age of 62 years, 3 months and 15 days. Her husband, Ora, passed away shortly before her on June 4, 1967.
