RUTH ALDEN, DENVER, CO; DIES JULY 10
WYOMING - Graveside services for Ruth Viola Alden, 80, Denver, Colo., formerly of Wyoming, were held at the Wyoming cemetery Friday, July 14 at 10 a.m.
Miss Alden was born Aug. 11, 1891 in Jones County, and attended high school in Wyoming, later receiving a B.A. degree from Grinnell College, Grinnell.
She moved to Colorado in 1919 and entered the University of Colorado and obtained a master's degree in mathematics. She taught in the Denver schools both at Skinner Junior high school and later at Lorette Heights college.
Miss Alden, who lived in Senior Homes, Inc., Kentucky Drive, Denver, Colo., died Monday, July 10, 1972 in St. Luke's hospital, Denver. Funeral services were held in the Olinger Mortuary, Denver on Wednesday at 4 p.m.
She was a member of Senior Homes, Inc., the Central Presbyterian church and Women's Association, the American Legion Auxiliary, the Presbyterian Center Auxiliary, the YWCA, the Order of the Eastern Star, the Lincoln Club of Denver, the Colorado Chapter of the Sons and Daughters of the Mayflower, the Colorado Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution, the Women's Club of Grinnell College Alumni and the Mile High Executive Council of the Grinnell Alumni. She is survived by a sister, Mrs. Elva Brodersen, Olin, a brother, Robert Alden, Wyoming; and several nieces and nephews.
