OBITUARY

Last rites for Mrs. Chloe BEATY, 38, wife of Lamond BEATY of Canadian, were conducted Wednesday afternoon at three o’clock from the First Baptist Church, with Rev. Hardy Childress, pastor, in charge of the services.

Internment was in the Canadian cemetery under the direction of Stickley Funeral Home.

Mrs. BEATY died at 1:55 p.m. Monday afternoon at her home at 1101 Purcell Street, after a long illness of cancer.

A native of Hemphill County, she was born on April 21, 1917, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. W. C. WELCH, Sr. She attended Canadian public schools, and was married at Gageby on November 16, 1938 to Lamond BEATY.

She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Canadian, and until her illness had been an active worker in all church affairs.

She is survived by her husband; one son, Clois Gene; her parents, Mr. and Mrs. W. C. WELCH, Sr. now living near Higgins; three sisters, Mrs. R. A. SUMNER of Canadian, Mrs. Vernon ROWLEY of Locust Grove, and Mrs. Harry MORRIS of Lakeview; and one brother, W. C. WELCH, Jr. of Downey, California.

Pallbearers at the funeral were Bill POPHAM, John WILKINSON, Bill MATHEWS, Elmo WHEELER, Bill GRAY and J. C. CAIN.
