Mary Francis Wrigh Earp was born Aug. 5, 1862, Wayne Co.,Iowa, the daughter of Rev. Martin V. Wright and his wife Hannah Petty Wright. She married William A. Earp Jan. 1, 1884 in Iowa. In the fall of 1892 Mary and William came to Oklahoma territory with a team of horses and a covered wagon with 5 small children aboard. Six more children were born to them on the farm they homesteaded in N. Keokuk Twp. Lincoln Co., OK. After Will's death, Mary moved into Stroud where she was a charter member of the Stroud Church of God and donated the land where the church is located. Names of the children are: Coy Miller, Otto Earp, Ina Collyar, Wm Vernie Earp, Martin Earl "Earlie" Earp, Hugh Earp, Ona Taylor, Ara Hensly, Oba Earp, John Earp, and Claud Earp. Mary lived to be 99 years old and is survived by a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. She is buried in Stroud Cemetery, Stroud, Ok.
