Joseph Anderson Miller was the first child born to Green Edward Miller (1870-1954) and Martha Ann Baker (1869-1949). Martha Ann had three children from her first marriage to Mr. McKindrey. Joseph was born near Weed in Otero County, New Mexico and died near Miller Flats, also in Otero County.
He married Olive Mary Wright on 28 March 1917 and they raised five children.

Both Joseph and Olive are buried in Agua Chiquita Cemetery in Southern Otero County.
