NancyJane Abell, 67, of Coupeville, died March 7, 2009, in Everett. She was born Feb. 1, 1942, in Los Angeles to Edward and Alfreda (Hall) Billinghurst.
NancyJane moved to Whidbey Island from South Carolina in 1977. She attended Western Washington University, graduating with a psychology degree in 1984. Following her graduation, she worked at Skagit Valley College for six years as a registration assistant.
In 1994, she received her massage practitioner license. NancyJane owned and operated Capeabell hands in Oak Harbor from 1996 to 1998.
NancyJane was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, one brother, and her son Hugh Abell.
She is survived by her children and their spouses, Howard and Tiffany Abell of Fayetteville, N.C., and Hollie and John Smith of Puyallup; grandchildren, Jaya, Kailee, Taylor, Ethan, and Hugh Smith and David Abell; and nieces, nephews and cousins.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 21, at 4 p.m. at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Oak Harbor. A private family inurnment will be held at Sunnyside Cemetery.
