Linus Abbott's parents names were Elam Abbott & Roxy (Ellison) Abbott. Linus married Roxey Ellison on 21 Feb 1829 in Stockbridge, Vt They had 9 Children.

Elam & Roxy Abbott have 4 children known to be buried in the Abbott Cemetery in Vermont. They are:

1) Linus R. Abbott (11/2/1835 Age 1 year, 5 mon. 7 days.)
2) Infant Daughter (11/22/1832)
3) Infant Daughter (3/1/1831)
4) Infant Daughter (6/25/1830)

Roxy is also buried in the Abbott Cemetery in Vermont.

Three of the remaining children are: Sabin Abbott, Linus Abbott,Solon B. Abbott and Alida Abbott Noir.

It is unknown who or where the remaining 9th child is, but at the time of Linus's death, only four remained living.

Elam Abbott traveled west with one of his sons Linus and family and died in Coupeville, Washington. on June 22, 1895 Ae. 90ys., 4ms. There is a memorial to him in the Vermont Cemetery.

The following is from Elam Abbott's Obit:

ELAM ABBOTT died at the home of his son SABINE, in Coupeville, Washington, June 22, 1895. ELAM ABBOTT, age 90 years, 3 months, 26 days. He arose in the morning as usual and dressed himself. Soon after, while sitting in his easy chair, he fell into a deep sleep from which he never awakened, dying without pain of struggle.

He was born in Stockbridge, Vermont, February 26, 1805. Early in life he married ROXEY ELLISON, who died some years ago. She was deprived of her reason for many years, making life a struggle for MR. ABBOTT with his nine little children. Only four children survived. SABINE ABBOTT, with whom he spent his last days, LINUS ABBOTT of Fredonia Washington, and SOLON B of Oakland, Calif.

ELAM ABBOTT always made Vermont his home until June 1883, when he came to Coupeville, and remained with his children. He was and honest, hard working man. The funeral was at the home of his son SABINE, June 24, 1895.

2 years after this census was taken Lucy and Linus had one more son George Putnum. born on September 25th, 1889 and died in December 1889. Lucy S. (Putnam) Abbott passed away in October 1889. Both deaths are of unknown reason.

Linus Abbot married Harriet L. (Underwood) Abbott on July 30, 1891 in Skagit County, Washington. Harriett Abbott died in 1908 and is also buried in the Sunnyside Cemetery.
