Nancy Ann Higgins, age 66, of Palmyra, Missouri, passed away Monday, September 20, 2010 at Hannibal Regional Hospital following a courageous battle with cancer. Nancy was born April 14, 1944 in Clark County, Missouri to Robert E. and Blanche Reid Riney. Survivors include: son, Jack L. Higgins & wife Erika of Palmyra; grandchildren: Haley & Paige Higgins of Palmyra; twin sister, Norma Richmond & husband Bill of Canton, Mo.; sister, Marie Disselhorst & husband Maurice of Palmyra; sister in law, Irene Riney of Taylor, Mo.. She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Gene Riney; and a nephew, Daniel Disselhorst. Nancy had retired from Diemakers Manufacturing Company in Palmyra. She had formerly worked for Blessing Hospital Linen Services and for Motorola Company in Quincy. Nancy was a 1962 graduate of Mc Cooey High School in Hannibal, Missouri. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Palmyra. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, September 27, 2010 at the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Palmyra . Father Pat Pierceall will officiate. Burial will be at the St. Patrick Cemetery in St. Patrick, Missouri. Visitation will be from 4-6:00 pm Sunday, September 26, 2010 at the Lewis Brothers Funeral Chapel in Palmyra with a prayer service at 6:00 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to Marion County R- II School and/or Palmyra Kiwanis Ball Program . Casket Bearers are Steve Riney, Shawn Richmond, Heath Richmond, David Disselhorst, Maurice Disselhorst, Bill Richmond, and Monty Mc Afee. Honorary Bearers are Haley & Paige Higgins and Nancy's nieces & nephews.
