Tam

In 1852 James Tam came to Rock Creek Twp. with his second wife, Rebecca McNutt and his 17 year old son Moses. James and Rebecca are buried in the Four Mile Cemetery.

Moses married Margaret Hoag. They were the parents of six children, one of which was Marquis Marlboro Tam.

"Moses Tam was the first of the four children of James and his wife, Rebecca (McNutt) Tam. He was the only son... He remained with his parents until he twenty-four years of age.... has three sisters: Rachel, Sabina, and Rebecca....On June 19, 1859, Moses married Miss Margaret Hoag of Onondago County, New York....In 1859...Moses bought thirty acres of land, and he and his wife, Margaret, lived on it for six years. He then purchased one hundred sixty acres one mile east of Rockcreek and by thrift and industry, made it one of the most productive, and best improved stock and grain farms in that part of the country. It was on this farm that Moses and his wife raised their family, and it was here that he died November 4, 1897..."
