Here she conducted a prosperous business for many years, and after retiring built the large summer boarding house which she named Fairview, which she has had filled with boarders every season until failing health obliged her to relinquish the business.

She was an active and successful business woman, interested in many good works, and a friend to all in need. Although she had no children, excepting an adopted daughter, she was a favorite with the young people for whom she showed a special affection.
