Charles Norman Basch, 79, of 3335 Lister died Friday at his residence following a sudden illness.
Funeral arrangements are pending at the Osborn Funeral Home.
Mr. Basch was a lifelong resident of Shreveport. He was a retired member of the city's accounting department, a member of the American Legion and had served with the U.S. Army in France during World War I.
Survivors include one niece, Emily Basch of Houston, Tex.

Funeral services for Charles Norman Basch, 79, of 3335 Lister St., will be held at 2:30 p.m. today at the Osborn Funeral Home chapel with Dr. Hugh Bradshaw, associate minister of First Presbyterian Church, officiating.
Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery.
He was a member of the Presbyterian Church.
Pallbearers will be John E. Morris, Herman F. Cannon, Dr. C. B. Erickson Jr., Donald Ray Dykes and E. C. Morris.
