Mr. Allen, a native of Washington, N.C., lived in Baltimore and formerly in Norfolk. He was a member of Berkley Eagles Lodge.
Before his retirement, he worked as a shipwright at Norfolk Naval Shipyard and Norfolk Shipbuilding & Drydock Corp.
Besides his widow, he is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Alfred A. Norelli of Basking Ridge, N.J. and Dr. Ruth M. Allen of Baltimore; a son, retired Army Maj. Lewis D. Allen of Fayetteville, N.C.; a sister, Mrs. Betty Bribois of Baltimore; and six grandchildren.
A funeral service will be conducted in Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home Sunday at 2 p.m. Burial will be in Riverside Memorial Park.
