J. E. Bates Succumbs To Short Illness (Pneumonia)
J. E. Bates, 59, well known farmer and mill operator of Moulton Route 2, died at the residence Saturday afternoon after a week's illness.
He is survived by his widow Dizalbennie "Ollie" Wilson Bates, four sons: Bennie Edward Bates, Samuel Booth Bates, James Roland Bates, and Omer Avery Bates; four daughters, Mrs. Bessie Lee Childers, Mrs. Flora Bee Sammons, Mrs. Cora Obie Johnson and Miss Edith Bates.
Funeral services were conducted at 2 o'clock Saturday afternoon at Union Hill, interment following there with Priest directing.
