She was born in Reading on Sept. 23, 1918, a daughter of the late James and Mary I. (Francis) Reifsnyder.
She was the wife of George F. Hartman.
Employed as a beautician, Winifred was also a former Camp Fire Leader.
She loved sports, especially the Philadelphia Eagles and Phillies.
She loved crossword puzzles, cruises, traveling, dancing, and just being involved and active.
She also enjoyed writing poems and short stories.
Winifred volunteered as a docent at the Reading Public Museum.
She was a member of Nativity Lutheran Church, Reading, where she was a former Sunday School superintendent, teacher, and member of the church's 50 Plus Club.
Survivors include a daughter, Carol A., wife of Michael Moyer, West Lawn; one grandson, Timothy M. Moyer; one nephew, Michael James Sr.; one grandnephew; and two great-grandnephews.
She was predeceased by a sister, Frances James.
A religious service will be held Tuesday, Sept. 28, at 1 p.m. at Nativity Lutheran Church, 1501 N. 13th St., Reading. Friends are invited to call Tuesday from noon to 1 p.m. at the church.
Interment will be held at Forest Hills Memorial Park.
