JOHNNY LEE {HUMPHREYS} DEWEESE

Johnny Lee DeWeese, 71, a long time Antlers area resident passed away on March 27, 2010 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. She was born on June 24, 1938 to Urias "Snooks" and Aurdrey {Ferguson} Humphreys in Talihina, Oklahoma. Johnny graduated as Salutatorian of the class 1956 of the Whitesboro School. She married Charles Ray DeWeese on October 4, 1957, at the Northeast Baptist Church in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. She enjoyed being a homemaker and spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Johnny was a member of Stanley's Christ Church. She was a member of the Choctaw Nation. She enjoyed beading, fishing, black powder and rifle deer hunting, bird watching and identifying. She was a collector of unique items.

She is survived by her husband Charles DeWeese of the home in Antlers, Oklahoma; children Mark DeWeese of Buffalo Valley, Oklahoma; Tia and Dwight Carter of Antlers, Oklahoma; grandchildren Christopher DeWeese of Oregon; Joshua DeWeese of Arizona; Jackie and Tara Boren of Crystal, Oklahoma; Michael and Tiffany Boren of Becksville, Texas; William and Jacob Carter of Antlers, Oklahoma; Kaylynn and Jordie Mullins of Tennessee; great-grandchildren Takara, Ryley and Jeanna Nelson of Bixby, Oklahoma; Callie Boren of Crystal, Oklahoma; Layla Boren of Becksville, Texas; sisters June and Jim Young of Buffalo Valley, Oklahoma; Susie and Larry Fields of Buffalo Valley, Oklahoma; Eileen Beasley of Whitesboro, Oklahoma; brothers Edgar Humphreys of Buffalo Valley, Oklahoma; James Charles Humphreys of Whitesboro, Oklahoma; Phillip Humphreys of Whitesboro, Oklahoma; along with numerous nieces and nephews other relatives and many dear friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents Urias "Snooks" and Aurdrey Humphreys; daughter-in-law Karen DeWeese; aunts Hazel Dukes and Lena Thirkill. Graveside services were held at the Humphreys Family Cemetery, on March 30, 2010. Gary Fuller officiated. Interment followed under the direction of Talihina Funeral Home. Plaabearers for the service were Jesse Tucker, Greg Sims, Jim Young, Tony Young, Timmy John Young, and Steven Humphrey.
