Anna was the oldest surviving child and only daughter of John Behrens and Anna Maria "Mary" Brinker.
Anna's father, John, died in 1878 and her mother married Anna's step-father, Henry Bentrup the following year. When Anna was about 12-years-old in 1883, her mother passed away.
Anna never married and died at a very young age. At the time of her death, she was about 21-years-old. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by an infant brother.
Anna was survived by her step-father, Henry Bentrup, who died in 1915.
