Joe "Catfish" Morrison, 78, of Iliff died Monday at his home in Iliff.
Morrison was born April 17, 1932, in Sadalia, Mo., to Jim Morrison and Velma Marie Riding.

He married Shirley Norris in Denver on Aug. 28, 1991. He worked for Peter Kiewet & Sons Heavy Highway Construction and was a truck driver for 25 years.

Morrison was a member of American Ex-POW Association, American Legion and the VFW.

He enjoyed fishing, hunting, building, making lamps and teaching young kids fishing. He loved spending time with his grandchildren and picking wild berries to make wine and jelly.

Morrison is survived by his wife, Shirley Morrison of Iliff; daughter, Natasha Morrison of Iliff; sons, Michael and Jeffrey Morrison, both of Sterling; stepsons, Larry Meyer of Sutherland, Neb., and Richard Brown of Windsor; and 17 grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one stepfather, John Hodges; a daughter, Rona Morrison-Klassen; two sisters, Marylee Hawkins and Littie Holes; and two brothers, William and Alfred Morrison.

Visitation was held from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Tennant Funeral Home.

Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. today, Sept. 23, at Tennant Funeral Home with Rev. Deb Neal officiating. Services concluded at the funeral home.
