The body of Pfc Charles J. Murphy, son of Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Murphy of Pierrepont, who died in action in World War II, will arrive tomorrow for burial service.
His body will arrive on the 9:45am train and will be taken to the E. E. O'Leary Funeral Parlors from where funeral services will be conducted at 3pm. Rev. Earnest Eells will officiate with interment to be made in the family plot at Fairview Cemetery. Full military rites will be conducted.
Pfc Murphy entered the armed forces April 24, 1944 and was killed in action April 13, 1945 in Ellishute, Germany. He was 19 years of age at the time of his death.
Surviving besides his parents are six sisters, Ella Muriel and JoAnne of Pierrepont; Rosalie and Barbara of Ogdensburg; and Hazel of Canton.
