SAD DEATH TODAY

MRS. MARY WILKIE AND HER
CHILD BOTH EXPIRED.

Not a sadder death has been record-
ed in Elwood for months than one
which occured this morning at 6
o'clock, Mrs. Mary Margaret Willkie,
wife of Frank Willkie, the well know
tin plate employe, died at 6 o'clock,
in child birth. Her child, a son. died
also.
Mrs. Willike was born at Fort
Wayne, and was thirty years of age.
Her father dieda number of years
ago but her mother still lived there.
Beside a husband there are three chil-
dren left motherless.
The funeral will be held at St.
Joseph's church Wednesday morning at
10 o'clock Rev. Father Beigel officat-
ing and interment will be in the Catholic cemetery south of the city.
The sympathy of a wide circle of
friends is extended to the bereaved
family.

FLORAL TRIBUTES ADORNED BIER
OF MRS. FRANK WILKIE.

The funeral of Mrs. Mary Marga-
ret, wife of Frank Wilkie, and her in-
fant son, whose,, death shocked the rn-
tire city a few days ago, was held at
St. Joseph's church this morning, Rev.
Father Biegel officiating.
There was a large attendance,
the deaf woman enjoying a wide ac-
quaintance and high regard among the
people of the city. Many beautiful
floral tributes were brought as tokens
of love from those who knew her best.
At conclusion of the service the
body was taken to the Catholic ceme-
tery south of the city and laid in its
last resting place. The sympathy of
the entire city is extended to the
stricken family.
