She was a member of and retired as an Administrative Assistant for Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church, Camp Hill where she served on its Council, its counting team, and was formerly active with its youth groups. In her later years, Betty's life revolved around her grandchildren and their many activities.
She was a graduate of Susquehanna Township High School and enjoyed sewing, camping, bowling, and playing cards.
Betty was born in Harrisburg to the late John A. and Katherine (Baum) Miller.
She was the widow of Clarence R. Hocker and is survived by two sons, John A. and wife Leslie of Mechanicsburg and Thomas D. and wife Dori of New Cumberland; a sister Bonnie Patschke and husband Carl of Towson, MD; five grandchildren, Kathryn, Adam, Dan, Eric and John; and a cousin Howard Baum and wife Grace of Pittsburgh.
A memorial service will be held on Thursday evening at 6 pm in her church with the Rev. Burton J. Parry officiating. Burial will be in Rolling Green Cemetery, Lower Allen Twp.
A visitation will immediately follow the service.
Memorial contributions are requested to her church at 1610 Carlisle Rd., Camp Hill, PA 17011.
