Rockdale, Sept. 7. -- W.P. Henry, Pioneer businessman of Rockdale and one of the landowners on whose property the original shallow oil field north west of town was located, died suddenly of a heart attack this afternoon. He had been at his business up to noon today. Mr. Henry engaged in farming extensively for many years before moving to Rockdale, where he erected one of the first modern garages and filling stations. He also had engaged in the real estate business. Funeral services were held at the First Baptist church Monday afternoon, with Rev. J.W. Askew in charge. Mr. Henry is survived by his wife, three sons, Clint, Joe and Ernest, all of Rockdale; four daughers, Mrs. Jack Kyle, Mrs. Will Vogel, Mrs. Edward Backhaus, all of Rockdale, and Mrs. Kenneth Wiley of Oklahoma City; two brothers, Edgar Henry of Rockdale and Jerome Henry of San Antonio; and two sisters, Mrs. Emma Sharp of Louisiana, and Mrs. J.D.
