Rev. Stephen Groza, aged 42, pastor of the German Baptist church at Linton, died last evening at 9 o'clock at a local hospital following a short illness. Rev. Groza had been pastor of the church at Linton for the past two years, and served at Lehr in a similar capacity for five years before.
Born in Hungaria on July 8, 1876, Rev. Groza came to the United States in his early boyhood and studied for the ministry. He is survived by his wife and one daughter, Katherine, a brother, Rev. Joseph Groza, of Michigan, and a sister, Mrs. Rose Beras, of Baltimore, Maryland.
Rev. Benz of Herried, S. D., will conduct the funeral services Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the English Baptist church. Rev. A. A. Holmes will assist. Ministers from many nearby communities are expected to attend the funeral services.
