Ellen Hendrix Brown, 96, widow of Hollis C. Brown went to be with the Lord Thursday, January 6, 2011. She was the daughter of the late Mack and Lula Taylor Hendrix.
Surviving are a daughter Jo B. McAlister, a son, Jonas (Susan) Brown, special niece reared in the home, Marcie Bruce, seven grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren. Her sisters: Nan Woodard, Doris Richardson, Peggy Thomason and brothers: Lee and Jim Hendrix.
She was predeceased by a daughter, Jane Reese Turkett, three sisters and a brother.
She was a faithful member of Laurel Baptist Church.
A Funeral Service will be held Sunday January 9th at 3 p.m. at Laurel Baptist Church. The family will receive friends following the service.
Because of her love for children, the family request in lieu of flowers, memorials be made to "Love a Child" Feeding Program P.O. Box 30744, Tampa , FL 33630
