Leone F. Amundson, 86, of Woodridge, formerly of East Peoria, died at 12:15 p.m. Thursday, April 7, 2005, at Edwards Hospital in Naperville, IL.
Born Aug. 29, 1918, in Slayton, Minn., to Melvin Julius and Charlotte Belle Protextor Gunderson, she married Glenn Vernon Amundson on Feb. 12, 1939, in Rock Rapids, Iowa. He died on July 31, 1992, in Woodridge.
She also was preceded in death by one brother, two sisters and one granddaughter.
Surviving are three sons, David (and Kathleen) of Marquette Heights, Duane (and Cyndi) of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, and Melvin (and Jeanne) of Orlando, Fla.; one daughter, Dee (and Ron) Biegun of Woodridge; seven grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
She worked as a dental assistant from 1958 until retiring in 1973.
She was a member of First United Methodist Church in East Peoria.
Burial will be in Fondulac Cemetery.
