Ocie Sloan Flowers, 77, of Jesup, Ga., died Thursday March 15, 2007 in Beverly Health & Rehabilitation after an extended illness.

The Brantley Co. Ga., native had lived in Wayne County most of her life & was a member of Jesup Christian Fellowship & former 50 year member of Church of God of Prophecy. She was a 30 year Public School Teacher retiree having taught 27 years in Wayne County. She was a member of the Retired School Teachers Association & former member of the Wayne Memorial Hospital Auxiliary.

Survivors are her husband of 57 years: W. C. "Bill" Flowers of Jesup, Ga., 1 son & daughter-in-law:Wayne & Audrey Flowers of Jesup, Ga., 2 daughters & sons-in-law: Anne Shirley & Jim Westberry of Odum, Ga., Jeannie & Mike Long of Jesup, Ga., 3 sisters & brother-in-law: Onie Flowers, Florence Blaylock, both of Hortense, Ga., Zubie & Jack Wolverton of King, N.C., 7 brothers & sisters-in-law: Burt & Edna Sloan of Pensacola, Fl., William Sylvester, "Vet" & Burnette Sloan of Brunswick, Ga., Eugene Sloan of Brunwick, Ga., Allne & Sarah Slaon of Buford, Ga., Herschel & Patricia Slaon of Jacksonville, Fl., Herman & Marie Sloan of Hortense, Ga., Robert & Iris Slaon of Hortense, Ga., 5 grandchildren: Natasha (Ferrell) Cooksey, Josh (Dana) Flowers, Tynesha Flowers, Chael Long, & Rachel Long all of Jesup, Ga., 4 great-grandchildren: Conner & Ian Flowers, Levi & Jace Cooksey, & several nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services will be held 11 A.M. Saturday from the Rinehart & Sons Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Mike Jones, & Rev. Wayne Manning officiating.

Interment will be in Little Creek Cemetery. Honorary pallbearers will be: Wayne County Retired Teachers and the Staff of Beverly Health & Rehabilitation.

Visitation will be 9:30 A.M. to 11:00 A. M. Saturday at the funeral home.
