Ilva Beatley Jett
Ilva Beatley Jett, 82, of Burgess, died Sunday, September 5, 2010. She was a Sunday school nursery teacher for over 50 years and was known and loved by all her children as "Miss Ilva". She is remembered for her favorite pastime of bowling which she continued to do until the age of 81.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Everett "Skinny" Jett; a sister, Sarah Frances Beatley Cooke; a brother, Llewellyn Beatley and a nephew, William Alfred Luttrell, that she helped raise.
She is survived by a brother, Freddie "Buck" Beatley; four nieces, Nancy Greenwood, Frances "Sissy" Allen, Bonnie Kistler, and Catherine Kelly; four nephews, Lee, Tommy, and Kenny Beatley, and David Cooke; and numerous friends and family.
Funeral services were held Sept. 7 at Faulkner Family Funeral Home. Interment was in Roseland cemetery, Reedville.
