Lorene Texas LaJoy Stautzenberger Schnuriger was the daughter of Edwin Andrew Stautzenberger and Emma Mattie Payton Stautzenberger. She had one brother, Thomas Jewell Stautzenberger that died as an infant having lived only 21 days in 1932. On November 9, 1944 at St. Cecilia's Catholic Church in San Antonio, Texas, Lorene Stautzenberger married Francis W. Schnuriger, the son of Johann J. Schnuriger and Josefa Matschl Schnuriger. Lorene and Francis Schnuriger had five sons. Lorene Schnuriger was active in helping others through her works with St. Leo's Altar Society and St. Leo's Ladies of Charity. She was a member of Widowed Persons Services, AARP Chapter 1045, SCOOPs, and Senior Friends. Lorene always had a smile on her face and a warm hug for anyone she would meet. She is greatly missed by all who knew her.
