S.N. Missildine, 83, of Cataula died Monday, September 13, 2010 at The Medical Center. Graveside funeral services will be held 10:00 AM Wednesday, September 15, 2010 in Parkhill Cemetery with Reverend Jimmy Culpepper officiating according to Striffler-Hamby Mortuary, 4071 Macon Road Columbus, GA 31907. The family will greet friends Tuesday evening, September 14, 2010 from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM at the funeral home. Mr. Missildine was born June 4, 1927 in Barbour County, AL, son of the late Realous Franklin and Mattie Hagler Missildine. He has been a resident of the area most of his life and was a self-employed painter. Mr. Missildine was a member of the Kimbrough Masonic Lodge, # 118 in Catuala, and just recently was recognized for 25 years of membership. He was also a member of Mt. Hill Baptist Church. We will remember his sweet and simple spirit, and his memory will live forever in our hearts. In addition to his parents, Mr. Missildine was preceded in death by one brother. Survivors include his loving wife of 62 years Mary Ellen Missildine of Cataula, GA; two children, Linda McCullough and her husband, William L. of Cataula, GA, and Roger L. Missildine of Columbus; two brothers, Maxie Earl Missildine of Columbus, GA and Clifford Missildine of Amarillo, TX; seven grandchildren, and 12 great grandchildren.
