-----
As the infant, Robert Lee Crane, survived his mother, she actually left 7 biological children rather than 6 as noted in the obit. Thomas Franklin Crane, was 52 years old when she died and he never remarried. He raised 6 of these children by himself. Robert Lee was given to a couple who couldn't have children, as he was sickly and needed medical care which the family couldn't afford. He was not legally adopted and did stay in touch with the family. Louise continued to live at home and care for her father until he died in 1948 of stomach cancer, she was 27 years old at the time of his death. She stated that he said he never remarried because he was afraid he wouldn't be able to find someone who would be good to his children".

Robert Lee Crane married Ann Stewart of Monroe Co. They moved to Los Cruces, New Mexico and raised 2 daughters, Julie and Janice. He died in 1991 in NM.
