She was born to John H. and Annie Smith Smith. Mrs. Sides was preceded in death by her husband, Douglas Dalton Sides, and a sister, Marquitta Hilton. Surviving are one son, Jerry Wood (Gail), of Advance; one daughter, Jean Jeffries of Advance; a granddaughter, Tonya Hutchins (Bill), of Durham; a great granddaughter, Alexandra Hutchins; a great grandson, Tyler Hutchins; a brother, Bob Smith (Ada) of Mocksville.
