A Long Rest. – Mrs. Ben. F. Butler, after a long and painful illness on Sunday evening at about 5 o'clock breathed her last. Not even the assiduous and unremitting care of a devoted husband could stay the dreadful coming of the end of all mortals. Deceased was among those who on earth were beloved of all who knew them, and we sincerely hope that a greater happiness than can come to any of us may await her in the great hereafter. Mrs. Butler was a native of Illinois, where she was born November 24th, 1848, and was consequently 30 years of age. A large circle of friends unite in heartfelt sympathy with the bereaved husband and four beautiful children. May the green sod rest lightly upon her breast and in after time unite the family now so mournfully separated. (Bodie Standard, 11/27/1878)
Died. Bodie, Mono county, November 24 – Mrs. B. F. Butler, aged 30 years and 28 days. (Sacramento Daily Union, 11/28/1878)
