Mary Edna was formerly the widow of Lt. John G. Raulerson, under Capt. Samuel H. Vanzant of Company B, 5th Florida Regiment. Lt. Raulerson was killed May 3, 1863 at the Battle of Chancellorsville.

Mrs. Drew was also the sister (John English Wandell) and step-daughter of two Confederate soldiers.

At the 24th Annual U.D.C. State Convention held in Jacksonville, Mrs. Drew was elected State Honorary President.
