PORTLAND, Conn. -Elizabeth Gossard "Sue" McKenzie, 51, of Freestone Avenue, died Tuesday, Aug. 19, 2008, at Yale-New Haven Hospital.
Born April 11, 1957, in Baltimore, she was the daughter of Richard Gossard Sr. of Maugansville and the late Mary May Gossard.
Sue had been taking classes at Middlesex Community College, as well as having been a legal secretary for a law firm in Maryland. Sue was a parishioner of the Church of Saint Mary.
In addition to her father, she is survived by her husband, Mark J. McKenzie; two daughters, Christina Dignan of Hagerstown and Amy Dignan of Pennsylvania; three sisters, Ruth Ann Shawer and Barbara Chaney, both of Smithsburg, and Nancy Barnhard of Maugansville; one brother, Richard Gossard Jr. of Maugansville; eight grandchildren; nieces; and nephews.
She was preceded in death by one son, Patrick Dignan Jr.; and one sister, Carol Gossard.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at the Church of Saint Mary, Portland. The Rev. John F. Ashe will officiate. Burial will follow in St. Mary Cemetery.
