Many Sierra county residents will regret to learn of the death of Charles W. (Fred) Adams, mayor of the village of Hot Springs, which occurred in a hospital in El Paso last Sunday. Heart trouble was the cause of his death. The remains were brought to his home at Hot Springs, and on Tuesday were buried in the cemetery at Chloride beside those of his brother Frank, who was murdered by Indians early in the summer of 1885. At the time of his death he was conducting a general merchandise business at Hot Springs where his widow resides. Deceased came to Sierra county when a small boy and grew to manhood in the shadow of the Black Range; a good citizen, upright, honest and industrious was he, all of which won him the respect and esteem of all who knew him, and his family has the sympathy of the community in their sad affliction.
