The Beck family is deeply saddened to announce the passing of Laurie on Sunday, August 29th, 2010. Laurie was the beloved wife and best friend of John (Jack) and cherished mother of Ken (Diana) and Elizabeth (Mike). She was predeceased by her loving daughter Nancy. She will always be remembered by her grandchildren Jacob, Matthew, Jonathan, Michael, Taylor and Aryn. Laurie was a registered nurse who graduated from Aberdeen Hospital in New Glasgow, N.S. She took some time off from her nursing career and devoted it to raising her family. While continuing to work in the family business, Laurie resumed her nursing career once the children were grown and remained actively involved in Beck's Construction up until about ten years ago. She was a true friend to everyone who knew her and gave generously of her time and herself. She will be sadly missed by her family and friends.
A private family service will be held at the MACKAY Funeral Home 416 Dibble St. W. Prescott. Friends are welcome to come by John and Laurie's home on Thursday September 2nd, 2010 between 3:30 pm and 5:30 pm. In lieu of flowers donations can be made (by cheque only) to St. Mark Catholic School (via CDSBEO), The Blue Church Cemetery or the Arthritis Society.
