Sue Carol (Stewart) Smith of Danville died Saturday night. She was 66.

Born June 8, 1944, in Lebanon, she was a daughter of the late Lola and Foster Stewart. She married John Michael Smith in 1965, and he survives.

Mrs. Smith graduated from North Salem High School in 1962. ÊShe was a retired Hendricks County employee, spending most of her time working for Superior Court II, including several years as the court reporter. She also worked for the Probation Department and the Hendricks County Jail during her time with the county.

Additional survivors include a son, Brett Smith also of Danville; a daughter and son-in-law, Dawn and Randy Hoffman of Quantico, Va.; grandaughters Tressa Smith, Caroline Hoffman, and Emma Hoffman; a grandson, Shawn Hoffman; a brother-in-law, Warren Moreland of North Salem; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Preceding her in death were sisters Dorothy Hall, Marie Moreland, Marilyn Blackmore, and Jean Hinshaw.

Services are 6 p.m. Wednesday at North Salem Christian Church.

Calling is at the church for two hours prior to the service.

Porter Funeral Home in North Salem is handling arrangements.
