Doris Aringdale, 75, of Burlington, Iowa and formerly of Columbus Junction, died Tuesday, May 23, 2006 at Burlington Care Center.
Funeral services for Doris will be Saturday, May 27, 2006 at 2:00pm at the Stacy-Lewis Home for Funeral and Cremation Services in Columbus Junction. Rev. Cathy Whitlatch of the Columbus Junction United Methodist Church will officiate. Casketbearers will be Gayle Williams, Kent Williams, Myron Williams, Dick Lohse, Dell Reighard and Donnie Snavely. Visitation in Burlington will be held on Friday, May 26th at Lunning Chapel, 2620 Mt. Pleasant Street, from 5:30-7:30pm, and one hour visitation will be Saturday, May 27th at the Stacy-Lewis Funeral Home from 1:00pm until services begin. Burial will be in Columbus City Cemetery. Following the committal service, a time of food and fellowship will be held at the Spring Run United Methodist Church, rural Columbus Junction. Memorials may be directed to the Burlington Hospice, and sympathy notes may be left to the Aringdale family at www.lewisfuneralhomes.com.
Doris Maxine Aringdale was born September 25, 1930 in Louisa County, IA, the daughter of Frank Harris and Eunice Dorothy (Metzger) Aringdale. She was a graduate of Columbus Community High School and a member of Spring Run United Methodist Church. Doris lived on the family farm until moving to Mt. Pleasant, IA in 1968 where she worked as a telephone operator for over 20 years until retiring to Mt. Pleasant, IA in 1990. She enjoyed embroidering, gardening and was an avid Iowa Hawkeye fan.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Arlene Reighard.
