WILLISTON - Peter Frank Senna, 84, passed away Friday, Sept. 3, 2010, peacefully in Fletcher Allen Health Care surrounded by his loving family.

He was born May 6, 1926 to Frank and Leona (Lapierre) Senna in the family home in Williston.

He worked on the family farm then enlisted into the U.S. Army where he was stationed for 16 months in West Germany.

On April 26, 1958 he married Emily Sheldon in Williston where they raised seven children.

Peter sold the dairy cows in the early 70's and raised beef to sell and eventually turned the barn into a slaughterhouse which was the family business. He loved farming, hunting, fishing, and especially baseball and the N.Y. Yankees. He also had a dream of turning a couple of pastures into softball fields. He made it happen and even had his own team. In recent years he raised vegetables and flowers and loved to sit in his farmstand and talk with his customers.

Peter is survived by his children, Kathy and Pat Downs, Willie and friend Ann, Nancy and Stephen Bushey, Bonnie and Tom Boutin, Mary and Gary Wright, Debbie and Jim Lawrence; his grand- children, Christopher, who is serving in Afghanistan, and wife Briana Boutin, Sarah Boutin and friend Chris, Michael, Ashley, and Casey Lawrence; and his lifelong friends, Bob Bushey and Dave Palmer. He is also survived by his sisters, Dorothy and Romeo Theriault, Leah (Maple) Boutin; other siblings; and many nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his wife, Emily, of 40 years in 1998; a son, Arthur, in 1988; a brother; and two sisters.
