DUSTIN GLEN SHELTON 30, of Paris, died at 6:30 AM, Thursday, September 2, 2010 at Paris Regional Medical Center. A graveside service is set for 3:00 PM, Tuesday, September 7, 2010 at Prairie Ridge Cemetery with Rev. Brad Crosswhite officiating. There will be no formal visitation hour observed, but the body will be available for viewing after 3:00 PM Monday afternoon until closing. Fry & Gibbs Funeral Home has charge of the arrangements.

Dustin was born November 28, 1979 in Paris to Daryl Glenn and Debra Kay Skeen Shelton. He was a carpenter in the construction trade. He was baptized as a child at Maxey Baptist Church.

Survivors include five children, Haven Shelton, Rustin Shelton, Gueran Crutchfield, Kayglen Shelton, and Bonnie Shelton; his mother, Debra Evans and husband, Craig; his father, Daryl Shelton; one brother, Brock Shelton and wife, Connie; a step-brother, Jason Evans; two step-sisters, Mandy and Mallory Evans; two nephews, Ryan and Jayden; his paternal grandmother, Dorothy Shelton; and his maternal grandparents, Warren and Betsy Skeen. He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Denzil Shelton.

Paris man dies after shooting incident

A Paris man died Thursday morning after he was transported to the hospital with an apparent gunshot wound.

Dustin Glen Shelton, 30, was pronounced dead at Paris Regional Medical Center after a disturbance and shooting shortly after 6:30 a.m. Thursday at 485 14th St. S.E.

A second person transported from the scene with unknown injuries was treated and released from the hospital, according to Matt Birch, public information officer for the Paris Police Department. Birch said the second person was not taken into police custody upon release from the hospital.

Paris police are not releasing names of anyone else involved or details of the disturbance and shooting until further investigation can be completed
