Indian Wars Medal of Honor Recipient. Born in Boston, Massachusetts in 1837, he served as a Sergeant in Company M, 1st Cavalry, US Army. During the winter campaign of (1872-73), Sergeant Osborn distinguished himself in several battles with hostile Apache Indians in the Arizona Territory. For gallant conduct during the engagements, he was awarded the Medal of Honor on April 12, 1875. He died at age 50 in Washington D.C.
