Alfred H. Greenawalt, III, 74 of Amity Township, formerly of West Deer Township, died Thursday August 19, 2021 at Chestnut Knoll, Boyertown. He was born May 31, 1947 in Karns City to the late Alfred H. and Althea J. (Lane) Greenawalt, Jr.

Al grew up in Russellton graduating from West Deer High School in 1965. He worked as a maintenance mechanic for Arkema/Rilsan in Birdsboro for over 37 years. A member of the Teamsters Union Local 429 in Reading, a former member of the Monarch Fire Company and was a Fire Policeman for over 10 years, a former election officer at the Monarch polling place, and a former member of the Amity Township Zoning/Hearing Board. Al was known as Mr. Fix-it, fixing most anything, he also enjoyed remodeling his home and Ballroom Dancing.

Survivors include his wife of 3 ½ years, Dawn (Evans) Bowman, his son Allen D. (Nancy) Greenawalt of Mohnton, step-children Andrew Bowman and his fiancé Sara McCleaf of Parkesburg, Debra (Dennis) Baker of Elkton, MD, Christie (Steve) Coyle of Parkesburg and Heather (Drew Curtis) Bowman of Kennett Square; step-grandchildren Adeline and Tyler; his sister Lori (Gary) Shrum of Pottstown; his step-mother Janet Greenawalt of Douglassville; half-brother Scott Greenawalt and half-sister Roxanne (Robert) Reightneour both of Birdsboro. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his first wife of 40 years Kathleen F. (Evanio) Greenwalt Nov. 1, 2005 and his siblings James, Terry, Mickie and Rodney Greenawalt and Janet Brunner.

Friends received Tuesday from 11am to 12 Noon in the SIWICKI-YANICKO FUNERAL HOME, 23 McKrell Road, Russellton, West Deer Township, where a funeral service will be conducted at 12 noon. He will be laid to rest next to his first wife in Deer Creek Cemetery, Harmar. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be sent in his name to the Alzheimer's Disease Association, 237 Court Street, Reading, PA 19601.
